Recent Happenings In Fox's Life

I know I just made an entry with lots of pictures of Fox, but since I am using the internet for what is pretty much the first time in a month, I couldn't resist making another entry with factual information about him. So, read the entry below this, too, if you haven't yet.

Ok. Tomorrow, Fox is going to be 4 weeks old. Here are some fun or interesting things that he has done or that have happened in his little world:

-He went to church for the first time and was mentioned in a special prayer, in the sermon, and in the children's message
-His belly button has healed into a perfect little nub
-He is growing at a ridiculous rate. At birth, he was 19 inches and 6 lbs 11 oz. It took him almost two weeks to get back up to his birthweight (which is perfectly normal). Then, in the next six days, he gained almost a pound and was 2 1/2 inches longer. He looks like a miniature Buddha, covered in hair.
-He has visited the doctor's office, Target, Rainbow, GG's house, church, and Grama and Grampa Fischer's house.
-He watched the Superbowl, and rooted for the Colts. Needless to say, he was happy with the outcome of the game.
-He had an infection in his eye which led to a condition we lovingly called "goopy eye"--mass amounts of eye boogers that cemented his left eye shut at times. He was still cute though. I had to put ointment in there twice a day for a week, and it healed.
-He smiles and laughs, but only in his sleep. We don't think this counts, until he does it while he's awake. But it is very cute to watch.

Ok, so that is what has been going on for Fox. He's generally happy, and he is awake more and more now. He sleeps longish chunks at a time (up to 6 or 7 hours between feedings), so I have been getting more sleep, which is very nice. He's a good baby and we love him lots.
Fox's Many Friends and Family Members

Over the past four weeks, lots of people have come to meet Fox. We got pictures of many of those people holding him, and we are going to share those pictures here now. If you visited Fox and you don't see a picture of yourself, don't feel bad. Sometimes we forgot to take pictures, or maybe we accidentally deleted some. But Fox was happy to have all his visitors, and we hope more people decide to come and see him.

Here is Fox with his cousins Sam and Josh, and Uncle Kevin:

And with his cousin Jackson:

Here is Fox with Jackie and Robbie, friends of the family:

Here is is with GG (mama's daddy's mama) and Irene (who we may as well call GG #2):

Here are photos when Uncle Jerod and his girlfriend Sarah visited:

Here he is with Aunt Leah:

We had a visit from Kristin, Mama's friend:

And also with Mama's friend (former college roommate) Becky:

Here is Fox with Mama's friend since 9th grade, Alison, whose last name is Fox. Coincidence...?

Here he is with Grama and Grampa (Mama's mama and her husband):

And here he is with Grama and Grampa Fischer:

Even Pastor Rehwaldt came to see Fox in the hopsital!

And so did Shannon, the Director of Christian Education at our church, also a friend of Mama:

Here he is with Aunt Jacque and Uncle Jon:

And here he is with his youngest visitor, cousin Josh, who is no longer the baby of the family. Josh refers to Fox as "My Baby!" which is very cute.

So, those are the pictures we have right now of Fox's visitors. He also enjoyed meeting Oompa (mama's daddy), Uncle Joey, Aunt Wanda, Aunt Janell, cousins Deaunna, Andy and Carl, Mama's friend's Molly, Wendy and Kelly, and many church friends. And there are probably more we are forgetting. Anyway, if the rest of you want to be famous, just come and visit and remind us to take a picture!

Fox is getting more curious (when he opens his eyes, he frequently looks shocked), and his belly button fell off. Well, not his belly button.

Pictures and Stories

Fox is getting more squirrelly, opening his eyes and looking around at the world more. He also has some amazing skills. For example, he can pee on his own back. We have no idea how he pulls off this feat, but he's done it twice. Maybe he'll be a magician!

Fox has been enjoying being read to. Just this week Daddy was reading him Death of a Salesman, a play with a lot of lessons for an 8 day old (if you walk into a jungle, when you walk out, by God, you might be rich!).

He's starting to sleep in his crib, which is good for Mommy. He still wants to be held all the time, but if he's asleep he's willing to stay asleep on his own.

Sue Ellen Mischke still doesn't like him much (she's barely condescended to observe his existence), but she's started to follow Joe around again, which is good for everybody. She seems to weigh more than double what Fox weighs.

All in all, Fox is doing very well at home, and still getting people to visit him and watch him sleeping. When he gets older, he might get annoyed that people are watching him sleeping (it's offputting), but for now he's OK with it, and most other people seem OK with it too.
