The Final Parade

Fox not only tells good jokes, but he does amazing celebrity impressions. Guess who this is?

He got pretty interested in the camera and got close enough to investigate. Then Joe took this picture.

Here is Fox at the Sinclair Lewis Days Parade (or, the Sauk Centre Days Parade, as I like to call it). He had fun picking up candy, looking at horses with Grampa, and running around gleefully.

Parade Month

July is parade month for the Fischer family. Here we are on the 4th of July in Afton:

After the parade, we spent the day with family and friends. Here is Fox getting a big hug from his cousin, Faith:

The next parade we went to was the White Bear Avenue parade this past Wednesday. Fox somehow figured out how to unwrap and eat lollipops. We were amazed.

Today, we went to the Ramsey County Fair. Fox had a lot of fun looking at the animals:

Other fun things in Fox's life right now: he got a Viking hat (pictured on the right), and he is a dancing fool. Here he is at the Afton parade dancing to the music:

Next week, we will be going to Sauk Centre for Sinclair Lewis Days, so Fox will get to go to yet another parade! Life is good.

Check Out The New Moves

As we were watching The Office, we discovered that Fox has a new way of dancing. It is adorable. Check it out! Too bad he didn't learn this until after Jacque and Jon's wedding.

Summer: Water and Family Fun

Fox is now walking around all over the place. He also points out every ball he sees ("ball" is his first and favorite word), every animal he sees (which he calls "mmmm") and waves at people and cars. Here are pictures from some of his recent adventures (in mostly random order).

Fox enjoyed Underwater World at the Mall of America, where he saw sharks swimming around above him!

Here he goes! Sometimes he just starts walking down the sidewalk.
Hello!
Look at me!
Fox took a trip to Massachusetts, flying on a plane and spending time in Boston and in Salem visiting Rob and Karissa. Here he sees the ocean.

Fox loves pretty much any water--here he is in his pool.
Our family in Salem.
I laugh at the world! It is hilarious to me!
Fox dips his feet at the headwaters of the Mississippi River at Itaska State Park.

Back at the ocean...

Fox attended Jon's and Jacque's wedding, spending time with family.

Family picture in Boston.
For some reason, we're always taking pictures of Fox on statues of animals.

A big family picture.
Fox sure likes water.

Running around in the park with birds. He's acting out the role of George Costanza and later Jerry Seinfeld running through the birds.
I'm a superstar!

What Fox Does For Fun

He enjoys beans and rice, both as a meal and as a facial decoration:

He does "ET" with Daddy and Mommy and anyone else with an extended finger:

He tries to put on his own shoes (and also sometimes our big people shoes):

He hangs out in the sun:

He rides cool cars:

He pretends to fall off furniture to make us laugh (what a ham!):

He loves getting tickled (in this instance, by Justin) and laughing his big belly chuckles:

As Fox grows, he is really developing his own unique personality and interests. We are have a ball with him.

Look Who's Walking!

Spring is a fun time for babies. Fox has been growing so quickly it is hard to keep up to date on the blog. His newest venture is walking (captured on film below). He has gone up to 6 steps in a row. He loves walking--he'll go back and forth between Mommy and Daddy and just laugh the whole time. He gets a real kick out of it. Next step: dancing! Maybe Aunt Jacque and Uncle Jon can teach him swing...

Fox LOVES going outside. At daycare, he has been spending some time in the toddler room, which means he gets to go to the playground. The teacher puts him at the top of the slide, and he inches himself to it and goes down. You'd think a kid would get tired of that after a while, but not Fox!

He also really enjoys playing in our yard and going for walks. He finds little sticks and rock, and then he uses them to play a game of fetch with himself. I think he could do this for hours, but I usually get bored and find something else for him to do after a while.

Baths are another favorite pastime for Fox. He giggles and laughs and splashes like crazy. He gets kind of upset when I take him out. Actually, there are a few times lately where he has really had fits. I guess most people would call them tantrums. I like the word "fit" better than "tantrum." It isn't often that he does this, but every now and then I get a taste of what the two year old phase of life will be like. He's so cute, though, that I don't mind.

Fox also has been growing big, strong teeth. He has the front 8, and 3 or 4 molars way in the back. It is kind of odd, because it makes him look more like a kid than a baby, and yet his body is so small. He's pretty skinny and little still. His hair is also growing and getting a bit shaggy. We have been discussing a potential haircut in the next few weeks. I am not sure I am ready for that. I remember going with Wanda for Jackson's first haircut. She was sad that he would be losing his baby curls (he didn't, by the way). Well, maybe Fox's hair will gain some curls when he gets it cut! That would be crazy. Curls are ok, I suppose, but I like his hair the way it is. I will miss it when it is not as fluffy and fine.

Now, what you all have been waiting for: pictures! Lately, Fox has done many exciting things that we have photos of. He wore a hat:

He drew a picture in a Thank You card for his daycare teachers (Friday will be his last day). Please note use of left hand. Daddy must be so proud!

He stood up wearing cute jammies:

He enjoyed a meal of rice and beans (he is more of a bean man than a rice man):

And, most importantly, he is learning to walk. This video was shot earlier this week pretty late at night after a long day of using his muscles, so you will notice some plopping. Today, though, he took 6 steps in a row to walk to me. It was amazing!

Spring is here!

We have been enjoying spending some time outside in the sun. Here we are at GG's house:

Fox is working on standing, which we hope will result in walking. Hopefully, any day now he will take some steps--I have to teach him to dance by June 14, when Jacque and Jon get married! Look how much fun he is having standing up:

Fox sleeps with his little butt in the air sometimes, which is super cute. I think every kids does this at some point, and it is the most adorable position. Now I have it captured for everyone to see:

Fox had a playdate with cousin AJ. Here they are doing a favorite passtime of most tiny kids: looking out the window:

Not much else is new. We have been sick, but Fox and I are mostly healed. Joe is still sniffly, though. Fox turned 15 months old. What a big boy!! We are planning a trip to Salem, MA in June, so if anyone has advice about flying with a baby, we would love to hear it. And countdown to summer break is on! 6 weeks for me, 3 weeks for the boys. How exciting! I am sure we will post more often once we are on break.
