10 Playground Trip!

Fox has been working on staying in bed at night (he likes to get up to talk to us, complain about monsters under the bed, what have you). Every night that he stays in bed, he gets a sticker on his chart. I asked him what he wanted his prize to be, and he picked a 70 dollar Lego thing. So, I suggested something even better: a trip to 10 new playgrounds all in one day! He was sold. We spent around 10-15 minutes at each playground, but that was plenty. It was fun, but I got really tired. So did Pacey--at the last playground, he just plopped down on the rocks on his back and looked at the clouds for almost the whole time. We documented the trip with these pics:

I know it has been a long time, but we are back! We switched internet services, and now uploading pics and videos is much more tolerable (it used to take literally hours for a 45 second clip, and then half the time it would time out and not even work! But it's better now).

Here are two pics and a video of the boys playing in the yard a Papa and Grama Fischer's house. They really love golf!

I know it has been a long time since we have updated our blog. Apologies! Here is a link to a ton of pictures we have online. Feel free to browse around. These pics are from Easter until July.

Here are some of the things that have been going on in the lives of our boys:

Fox:

-working on potty training still (almost there!)

-started Sunday school at church, and attended VBS

-loves to watch tv and movies (I know, I know), and went on a date with Mommy to see Toy Story 3 in the theatre (he has a thing for cowgirl Jessie and her 'wonderful' legs)

-enjoys playing golf with Papa

-picky eater, but he likes baby carrots, soy chicken, pickles, and cheese

Pacey:

-currently has pinkeye and an ear infection, and is a goobery, uncomfortable mess

-not only mastered standing (in order to swing a golf club), but is also walking now too

-very talkative, though most of what he says is incoherent. Says "what's that?" all the time, and "uh oh" and responds to questions and comments appropriately (today I gave him his medicine for the pinkeye/ear infection, then I asked him if he felt better and he shook his head)

-sweet and snuggly

-gets excited easily, and then bounces up and down and waves his hands in the air while giggling

Our summer has been going really well so far. We are enjoying daily trips to fun places, like malls, the zoo, playgrounds, parades, visits with family and friends, etc. If anyone has free time this summer and wants to hang out and see just how awesome and cute and smart the boys are, just give me a call or email me. Hopefully we will post more often in the future.

It's a Pacey Spectacular!

Lately, Pacey has been reaching many milestones. I thought it was worthy of an entirely Pacey-based post.

One of the exciting things Pacey has done lately is go to a restaurant and sit in a high chair! Today we went to Denny's--the four of us and Papa Fischer. Pacey was happy to be part of the action, as opposed to being stuck in his carseat on the floor by our feet. He was a very good boy, and he enjoyed chewing on spoons.

Another new thing is that Pacey can sit up by himself! He is very strong and seems to like being able to do things his brother can do, like sit and play with toys.

Here is a picture of Pacey in church. Attending church is not a new thing, but taking pictures there is! I just thought it was cute that he was sitting on the pew between us like a tiny little grown up.

Here is Pacey playing on his tummy. He is almost always on his tummy now, because he an roll over very easily. He smiles a lot, too, as you can see.

And here is Pacey wearing a newsie hat just like Daddy. This hat is still too big for him, but we just had to try it on anyway. Too cute!

Other than the things listed, Pacey is learning to stand with support and he is also trying to grow a new tooth (it's ALMOST through his gums). That's all for now. Stay tuned for a Fox update!

Here is Pacey, amidst a bunch of puzzle pieces, chewing on his hand. He is chewing on his hand to experiment with his... NEW TOOTH! That's right, Pacey has a tooth! Not even 6 months old yet, and he is ready to eat raw carrots. Practically. I tried to get a picture of the tooth, but that is not possible. So, this is the best tooth shot I could get!

Here is Fox practicing standing up. He's had his cast off for 4 days, and he still can't stand on his own, but we are working on it.

Here is Pacey with the new baby blanket I made for him. I modeled it after my own baby blanket my mom made for me when I was 6. I still have mine, though it is in ragged strips now. I hope Pacey's brings him some comfort like mine has brought me.

Fox is a puzzle whiz now. I guess when you can't move for a month, you find ways to entertain yourself. Fox has taken up the art of puzzles and letters.

State Fair, Vikings fun, and broken bones

Recently we took a trip to the State Fair. Here are some pics of the boys (mostly Fox) enjoying the festivities, like Little Farm Hands, the miracle of birth and the tractors.

We had fun with Grama and Grampa Fischer before the Vikings first game. Brett Favre calls Fox a lot on his toy phone. Pacey has been smiling a lot lately, as you can see.

Pacey started eating solids (rice cereal). He eats too much milk for me to keep up with him! He seems to like cereal fine, but I bet when he tries bananas we will get a stronger reaction!

Fox likes to wear bows and headbands. He's so cute! What a smile!

And here is proof that even injured, he has kept his sunny personality.

As you can see, Fox is in a pretty big cast. He broke his leg (right femur) Sunday the 20th at the carnival at church. He went down an inflatable slide and his leg caught behind him and twisted. But he's a trooper! His cast goes from his belly button to the toes of his broken leg and just down to above the knee on the other leg. He won't be able to walk or anything until the cast is off. He has to have a special harness for the car, and he will not be able to ride in the car with Pacey, because they both will not fit in the backseat with the new harness system. He's in pain, but he assures us that he's ok and we shouldn't worry.

About Pacey

The baby's full name is Pace Christian Meissner Fischer. "Pace" is the word for "peace" in several languages, though we're anglicizing the pronunciation. We call him "Pacey."

He's very alert--when he's awake is eyes are usually open and looking around. He's also pretty strong--he needs little help holding his head up. His interests include model airplanes, soccer, and the Twilight novels. OK, kidding about the last three things. If he learns from Fox, his main interests will be trucks, candy, and being outside.

He was born 7 pounds, 6 ounces, 21 inches long.

Today Fox and Pacey will meet for the first time!

Pace Fischer was born on April 28, weighing 7 pounds, 6 ounces, and being 21 inches tall. He's trying to figure out this world--his eyes are open a lot. He and Sadie are both doing great.

End of Pregnancy Update

No pics this time, just an update on the new baby. I had an appointment yesterday, and all seems well, except that I have not delivered yet. My due date is Monday, so it is coming up fast. My doctor checked and found that I am dilated half a centimeter, which she says is progress from last week, but to me it doesn't sound very promising. I have an ultrasound scheduled for Monday afternoon so they can make sure the baby still has enough amniotic fluid, see that the placenta is healthy enough to carry on into overtime, and be sure that the baby is practicing his breathing movements. If it seems like there is a problem at the point, they will send me over to United for surgery Monday. But likely, it will be fine. Then, I can keep trying to go into labor until Friday, at which point we have scheduled a c-section. My doctor thinks I will deliver before then and it won't end up coming to surgery, but we will see. I still feel mostly the same, though I have been having some contractions. They only come every few hours or so, and they aren't all that painful yet, so I clearly have a long way to go.

I am really hoping to be able to deliver the baby without having surgery, because the recovery was pretty rough for me last time. But either way, I am ok with it. And it is nice to have an end in sight--no matter what, I will have a baby within one week. I guess I shouldn't say that, either, because although my doctor and I said Friday would be the day, we still have to make sure a surgeon and an OR are available. So, I guess there is a chance the c-section would have to wait until the following week, but I am being optimistic. And I plan to go into labor tonight, anyway.

Minnesota Zoo!

Today we went to the Minnesota Zoo with mommy's friend Becky. It was fun. We got in free because of the Check Out a Museum program at the library (thanks, library!). I was kind of hoping a long day of walking would make me go into labor, but that seems to not be the case. Even though I did not give birth in the monkey house, many other exciting things happened.

We had one brief session of tears. We were checking out the dolphins, and we went up to the glass to see them better. The first dolphin we saw came right up to the glass by us. I thought, 'Cool!' Well, the dolphin thought she would be funny and splash us. Huge amounts of water came over the glass and drenched me and Fox. I laughed; he panicked. This is the after pic:

A nice lady brought us a towel, and we sat and talked about the situation. Fox agrees that it would have been funny if he had known it was coming, but since it was a surprise, he got scared. He recovered well, though, and we left shortly after (and he napped on the way home). Happy ending to a wonderful day!

Getting Ready for Baby Viking #2

Fox, Joe and I had some fun taking pictures today. My belly is about as big as it can get. The new baby is due in less than 3 weeks now!

New and Improved Pics

Last Thursday my camera went missing. We bought a new one that is exponentially better. So, I hope to be able to post lots of cute pictures of Fox and the baby, since I will be able to have clear shots all the time.

Anyway, we went to the mall over the weekend with the Fischers, and Fox got some bunny ears from the Easter Bunny. He enjoys wearing them around the house.

Fox wanted me to take pictures of him, and he kept his mouth sort of half open. So, I told him to close his mouth. This was the result:

Fox and Bella both got haircuts this week. Here is Bella's before picture:

And here is Bella after. She looks like a whole new dog. I still am not sure how I feel. I think her torso looks much better, but I miss her scraggly, hairy face. Maybe next time I will keep the hair on her face. She looks so little! But either way, she is clean and in good shape now.

Joe has gone back to school, which means Fox is back at daycare. He had a great first day. We don't have pictures of it, but here are some other pics and videos to entertain you. First up is Fox riding his cycle, wearing his new Elmo shirt:

Now that Fox is 2, he has acquired some very advanced skills. Below is a drawing he did of a star. I was amazed, so I took a picture. When I asked him what is was, he said it was a ball (Grama Fischer, who Fox calls "hi," was teaching him to draw a ball this weekend). Even if he doesn't know he drew a star, I am still impressed. Not all genius is intentional, anyway.

Fox's photography skills are also improving. Here is a picture he took of Mischke (with Daddy's help). Maybe he will follow in his cousin Jackson's footsteps...

Here Papa helps Fox read one of his new books that he got for his birthday. Notice he is sporting his new "lala" shirt, which he wants to wear every day (granted it has only been two days since he got it, but he wanted to wear it both days and cried today when we told him it was dirty).

Opening presents was a lot of fun. Cousin Josh was a good helper during this process. I like that you can see Fox's lips. I imagine he was saying "ooo!"

Fox doesn't officially turn 2 until Wednesday, the 21st. So, he is still a baby until then! In other news, we are likely getting a dog. That will be a good present for Fox! Not so good for Mischke, I am afraid. But we'll see. Maybe it will do her good to see another animal in action! She might learn not to bite and scratch so much. Otherwise, we are happy and healthy, and Fox's little brother is growing nicely. In three months, we will have a new little guy to play with! Yay!

Sorry for the delay. We have been busy with all the festivities, as I am sure everyone else has been too. Here are some holiday pictures of Fox. They are in reverse chronological order. This last picture has nothing to do with Christmas. This was some time in early December, and Joe and I were making tacos. We thought Fox was still playing with his cars, but evidently he got hungry and climbed into his chair and grabbed a tortilla and started dinner on his own. It was pretty funny.

Overall, we had a very nice holiday season. We have been enjoying our winter breaks, and I am now completely ready for my maternity leave. Not working is pretty sweet. Fox is also excited about his little brother; he talks about 'baby' all the time. Fox turns 2 later this month, on the 21st. How fun!

Little Genius

Fox is a little genius. He has put away childish things, like goldfish crackers and blocks, in order to have more time to spend pondering the economy, the war, tax policies, and the upcoming election. Today, three times he identified Barack Obama on the tv and in Time magazine. It was amazing. He sort of says "Obamama" but still, that rocks. So now, he can quack, moo, bark, and identify the (knock wood) future president. Below, he is deep in thought about the current political climate.

And here he is pretending to be a witch. I guess he hasn't entirely put away childish things.

But he is working on growing a goatee. Until he can get it to come in a little thicker, this Oreo beard will have to do.

Fox is turning into a tiny, little adult. As you can see, he does things exactly as we grown ups do. For example:

Here is Fox showing off his sling. He hurt his arm and got nursemaid's elbow, which means he popped a bone out of place a got a tendon stuck in between two bones. It required a horrifying trip to the ER, which I won't go into right now (if you want details, feel free to call me). He is all fixed up now, and he didn't really even need the sling, but I had to take some pics anyway, because it was so cute.

Big news, plus pictures

Lately when we ask Fox "Where's the baby?" he points to his mommy's tummy. And if we say "Say goodbye to the baby" he waves at his mommy's tummy and says "Ba-ba." That's because Fox has a brother or sister on the way, and Fox apparently knows where he/she is currently sleeping.

Yep, Sadie is pregnant, and Fox will be a brother. I should probably write "Sadie is pregnant!" On Seinfeld, Elaine broke up with Jake Jarmel because he wrote a note about somebody having a baby and didn't use an exclamation point. So, Sadie is pregnant! (In case you haven't figured it out, Joe is writing this).

That's the big news, but we have some pictures for you too.

Before we all go back to school, we took another trip to Underwater World at the Mall of America.

Fox likes to be surrounded by his stuffed animals. He sometimes throws his animals into the crib and likes to play around with them.
Obviously Fox watches his mommy and daddy closely: he wanted to climb into the front seat of the car and be the driver.

Fox got to go to the State Fair and hug a giant gopher. He still refers to any animal as "Mmm."

Fox had his first ever slumber party. He invited all his closest non-human friends. It was quite the adventure!

We went to the zoo again today, as our final family activity before I go back to work Monday (blah). The zoo was very fun. Fox and I went into the butterfly display; we each got landed on. Fox had a big one land on the back of his head as soon as we got in, and then another one landed on my toe. I think he thought my bright red toenail was a flower of some kind. He must have wanted some food from me. I had nothing to offer. But it was fun to be there anyway. We don't have pictures of the butterfly place, but we did get some elsewhere. I tried to get a picture of Fox looking at the buffalo, but he was more interested in the construction of the new polar bear habitat, which was happening behind me.

Ok, that's it for the zoo. Last weekend we went camping with the rest of the Fischers/Hazelwoods/Sarahs. It was fun. Here is Fox hanging out with Grampa by the campfire. Featured in the background--our new tent, with no raccoon holes in it! Much improved from our last tent.

The Final Parade

July is parade month for the Fischer family. Here we are on the 4th of July in Afton:

The next parade we went to was the White Bear Avenue parade this past Wednesday. Fox somehow figured out how to unwrap and eat lollipops. We were amazed.

Fox is now walking around all over the place. He also points out every ball he sees ("ball" is his first and favorite word), every animal he sees (which he calls "mmmm") and waves at people and cars. Here are pictures from some of his recent adventures (in mostly random order).

Look Who's Walking!

Spring is a fun time for babies. Fox has been growing so quickly it is hard to keep up to date on the blog. His newest venture is walking (captured on film below). He has gone up to 6 steps in a row. He loves walking--he'll go back and forth between Mommy and Daddy and just laugh the whole time. He gets a real kick out of it. Next step: dancing! Maybe Aunt Jacque and Uncle Jon can teach him swing...

Fox LOVES going outside. At daycare, he has been spending some time in the toddler room, which means he gets to go to the playground. The teacher puts him at the top of the slide, and he inches himself to it and goes down. You'd think a kid would get tired of that after a while, but not Fox!

He also really enjoys playing in our yard and going for walks. He finds little sticks and rock, and then he uses them to play a game of fetch with himself. I think he could do this for hours, but I usually get bored and find something else for him to do after a while.

Baths are another favorite pastime for Fox. He giggles and laughs and splashes like crazy. He gets kind of upset when I take him out. Actually, there are a few times lately where he has really had fits. I guess most people would call them tantrums. I like the word "fit" better than "tantrum." It isn't often that he does this, but every now and then I get a taste of what the two year old phase of life will be like. He's so cute, though, that I don't mind.

Fox also has been growing big, strong teeth. He has the front 8, and 3 or 4 molars way in the back. It is kind of odd, because it makes him look more like a kid than a baby, and yet his body is so small. He's pretty skinny and little still. His hair is also growing and getting a bit shaggy. We have been discussing a potential haircut in the next few weeks. I am not sure I am ready for that. I remember going with Wanda for Jackson's first haircut. She was sad that he would be losing his baby curls (he didn't, by the way). Well, maybe Fox's hair will gain some curls when he gets it cut! That would be crazy. Curls are ok, I suppose, but I like his hair the way it is. I will miss it when it is not as fluffy and fine.

Now, what you all have been waiting for: pictures! Lately, Fox has done many exciting things that we have photos of. He wore a hat:

We have been enjoying spending some time outside in the sun. Here we are at GG's house:

Fox is working on standing, which we hope will result in walking. Hopefully, any day now he will take some steps--I have to teach him to dance by June 14, when Jacque and Jon get married! Look how much fun he is having standing up:

Fox sleeps with his little butt in the air sometimes, which is super cute. I think every kids does this at some point, and it is the most adorable position. Now I have it captured for everyone to see:

Not much else is new. We have been sick, but Fox and I are mostly healed. Joe is still sniffly, though. Fox turned 15 months old. What a big boy!! We are planning a trip to Salem, MA in June, so if anyone has advice about flying with a baby, we would love to hear it. And countdown to summer break is on! 6 weeks for me, 3 weeks for the boys. How exciting! I am sure we will post more often once we are on break.

Cousin Mania!

Today, Fox and I visited with a bunch of cousins at Ompah's house. Here is Fox with cousin Faith. They look like they could be siblings, though they are actually not blood related.

When bathing, Fox enjoys having his hair turned into a unicorn horn. If that is not possible, he will settle for a mohawk.

We think he is going to be smart. Maybe he will start some multi-billion dollar software company.

Lots of fun with Grama Fischer!

Fox and I had fun advantures. We met Becky and Kelly at MOA. We went to check the prices at Underwater world so that we could plan a family trip there sometime, and I learned that teachers get free memberships! And since kids under 2 are free, we took a spontaneous voyage into the deep sea. It was wild!!

I didn't take any pics inside (I wasn't sure if it was allowed), but here is Fox with a pretend turtle near the giftshop. Look how excited he is!

It was a fun trip. I am sure we will go back often, since it is free. MOA also has toddler Tuesdays, where there are functions and activities for free that would interest small kids. We will probably check some of those out too. Good times!

Easter and more

Fox has had lots of good meals lately. He is really loving potatoes (and grampa's cookies!). Here is a picture of him at GG Meissner's house Palm Sunday, getting quite involved with his food.

Fox tried to open and close doors and drawers all over grama and grampa Fischer's house over Easter weekend. Look how much fun he is having!

Family picture time! Fox had the cutest Easter outfit, but another kid was wearing the same thing at church--how embarrassing!! Fox was the cutest, of course. He looks good in orange!

Fox got a visit from the Easter bunny at grama and grampa's house, and then back home on Easter, Fox got to find another basket (or pile of stuff, rather). He made out pretty well. I am very excited about his pj's with foxes on them, but he seems to have more interest in his hippo ballpit.

What a week!

Fox has been having a rough week. For those of you who haven't heard, Fox fell off his changing table Tuesday evening as I was getting him ready for bed. He freaked out, but he calmed down before too long. We thought everything was fine, so we put him to bed and brought him to daycare as usual the next day. He seemed sore, especially when we picked him up under his arms. I got a call from daycare at the end of the day that he was acting unusual--not moving much, crawling wierd, and crying if anyone went to pick him up. I left work early to take him to the doctor in Hudson. But the doctor was busy, so we went to the ER (Joe met us on his way home from work). Two hours and four xrays later, we learned he had a borken collarbone. Poor baby!

There isn't much we can do for him, other than not pick him up using his right armpit. We just have to be gentle with him and in 3-4 weeks he will be good as new. He is doing really well. The first couple days were hard for him, and he was in lots of pain, but now unless he moves certain ways or falls on his right side, he doesn't seem to notice he has a problem. He had adapted his crawling so he looks like he's doing a one-handed crab walk. It is very cute! And here is proof he is ok: this picture was taken today, and he is smiling big:

This one was also taken today, but I can't seem to make it rotate (I know how to rotate, it just isn't working).

The rest of these pictures are a little older, from the last month or so. Here is Fox pretending to talk on his bagel phones. He likes to pretend things are phones. He makes a sound that we think is "hello." We think he is practicing for being a teenager.

Is that a dirty sock? Nope! It's Fox, hanging out in the laundry basket!

Fox's new favorite toy: his potty chair! He doesn't use it for it's intended purpose yet, but he had lots of fun pretending and pushing it around like a walker.

Fox had his first birthday this week! It involved lots of good things, and a bad thing, too. The bad thing is that last Sunday Fox's grandma, Oma (mom's stepmom) passed away. It was very sad, but that is all I am going to say about it right now. Meanwhile, Fox got to have lots of fun. Here he is, having his birthday dinner at Luigi's with mommy and daddy:

Winter Adventures

Fox has been having lots of wintertime adventures. We spent a day (more like ten minutes of a day) playing in the yard, where Fox's had his first purposeful encounter with snow. He liked it, until he tipped over and went face first into it. I think he expected it to be like a white blanket. The coldness seemed to surprise and scare him. I don't have photos of that, because I'm not a mean mommy. But here he is having fun before the spill. If you squint, you can see the tiny snowman Daddy built for him.

Fox has been practicing making a cute scrunched up face. I tried to capture it, but this is the best I could do. It's like half scrunched, which is also cute.

Since it is too cold to hang out outside every day, Fox and Daddy have all sorts of indoor adventures, too. Here is Fox riding around in his wagon with all his stuffed friends:

Fox's birthday is coming in just a few days. Because my dad can't be at the party, we had a dinner this past Saturday, where Fox got to have some cake ahead of time. At first, he wasn't sure what to think of the cake. He just played with it with his hands:

Before long, there was no stopping him. There was cake everywhere: his hair, the floor, his clothing, and all over his face.

After a while, though, he began to slow down. He'd had enough sugar to last another year. And his real birthday party hasn't even happened yet! Stay tuned for more fun times!

Baby Viking's First Christmas

Fox enjoyed looking at and playing with the big pile of presents, most of which were for him. Mischke enjoyed mutilating the mini-tree we got this year, after she destroyed the regular sized tree we had last year. She is on the naughty list.

Fox had an ear infection (again!) over Christmas. He had a very high fever and was tired and a bit out of sorts when it was time to open presents. So, here he is half clothed, way less interested in his gifts than the rest of us. He got the pictured ornament, clothes, and nativity set, among many other fantastic things.

I think he was humiliated by these antlers, because he really didn't want to hold still for the picture. But mommy was unrelenting, and eventually successful.

Fox had lots of fun hugging cousin Josh Fischer. It was really cute. He didn't want to let go. It was like watching Titanic, except without a boat. And without Leonardo Dicaprio. And I guess lots of other things were different, too.

Then, Fox met Santa. We had to wake him up for this event, so he looks really bored, but he is really just confused.

The gift opening was spread out over several days. This was another day when Fox had a fever, so he is stripped down to a onesie. He did have lots of special Christmas outfits, I swear.

We went to the doctor's office today. Fox weighs a whopping 17 lbs 14 oz. He has gained only like 2 pounds in the last 3 months. That's ok, though. He is burning lots of calories crawling around.
He is also 27 inches long--the nurse said he is going to be tall and skinny. He got a flu shot and took it like a champ--I think Daddy and I were more upset about our shots than Fox was about his.

Fox Makes Friends

Fox got this costume for Halloween. He is a kangaroo! We are still shopping around, so if we find something cuter than this, we may return this one. But I doubt there is going to be anything cuter than this!!

Fox enjoys chewing on things.

After chewing, he likes to brush his teeth.

And then he chews on more stuff. For example, a football.

While he isn't chewing, Fox has been keeping busy. Today he went to the Community of Peace Academy soccer game, where he played with his friend, Eldon. Eldon is four hours younger than Fox. It's like looking in a mirror!

He also spent time with auntie Becky and auntie Kristin (he was making eyes at Kristing in this pic).

Fox also bathes. Now that is he getting bigger, playing in the tub is more fun each day.

New Accomplishments

In other news, Fox is learning to move around a lot more now. He can get up on his hands and knees and do the butt-bounce thing. It's very cute. But it is very difficult to capture on film. All in all, things are going well. Fox starts day care on Tuesday (blah). We are enjoying the last couple days before school starts. Visiting the Halbersma Family

This weekend, we went and visited Justin, Stacy, and Micah at their new house. It is awesome to have them back in Minnesota, and we look forward to lots of visits to their new place. While we were there, we did lots of fun things: we shopped in Rochester, we played at the playground, we went garage sailing, and we even got to hear Justin preach this morning. Action-Packed Thursday!

Today was another big day for the Fischers. We had Fox's 6 month pictures done at JC Penney's (they are super cute!). Then, we walked the mall, had lunch, and headed over to Aunt Jacque's house (which is also Jon's house, but he was at work). We played a game and then went swimming. He really enjoyed splashing around! I was worried he would be scared to swim (this was his first time), but he seemed to think it was just like a really big bathtub--and he loves his bathtub! We had him wear a regular diaper, and it was crazy/bloated when we got done. I can't imagine why a diaper would ever leak, with the capacity it managed today.

Then, after we got home, Fox got to try his first real food! He's been having cereal for a couple of weeks, but today he tried bananas. I think he thought we were trying to torture him or something. He made some pretty cute faces, though!

That's all the adventures for today. But tomorrow we head out to visit the Halbersma family, so there will likely be more pic soon!

Fox is Growing Up

Today, Fox went in for his 6 month well child exam, and he got two shots. He was very brave, and he only cried for 30 seconds or so. He is 26 and 3/4 inches long, and he weighs 15 lbs and 14 ounces--almost to size 3 diapers!!! Crazy. Even though he is growing so much, he is still much smaller compared to most babies his age. He's longer than most, but he weighs less and has a smaller head. So cute!

Last weekend, during Sinclair Lewis Days, Fox went to his third parade. I don't know many 6 month old babies who have done as many fun things as Fox has done! No wonder he is always so happy...

One of Fox's favorite things to do is hang out with Grandpa. Here they are having some fun:

Here are some pictures we took at the parade on White Bear for the Ramsey County Fair. Fox had so much fun he got worn out and fell asleep in the midst of the action!

Fox is eating baby food now. So far, he just does rice cereal (and milk). His first meal was Wednesday, when uncle Jerod, aunt Jacque, and uncle Jon were here. We got some good video of that. These pics were taken Thursday during his second meal. Here he is with a sticky, messy face:

He seems to be taking to food really well. Also, this past week we went to a wedding (Joe was an usher and reader). Here are some pictures from that. I have a feeling that for a while, most pictures are going to have either me or Joe in them, but not usually both of us.

Christmas, Independance Day, and cousins

Fox had his first 4th of July and his first Christmas all in the same week. Who knew? Anyway, here are some pics of him at the parade in Afton.

At the Christmas party in Sauk Centre, Fox got some Christmas money. Here he is clutching his five dollar bill greedily.

Fox is no longer the littlest McKinnon. My cousin Kate had a baby (I think June 22). Here are some pics from when Fox and I met little AJ when he was 5 days old. He's very small and cute. Fox liked him a lot.

And this is just a cute picture. I took this when I was trying to get Fox to roll over for the video camera. He just learned how to roll from back to tummy. He is doing it all the time now. He's very skillful.

Today, Fox got to go on more adventures. We went to Minnepolis and visited the 2007 Pride Festival (which he slept through).
